Destination Wedding Series
From Save-the-Date to “I Do” in Jamaica
Inside natania & O'ryan's Destination wedding Journey

Natania & O’Ryan’s Destination Wedding Journey Begins
Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Others begin with friendship.
For Natania and O’Ryan, it all started at work. What began as a friendship slowly grew into something much deeper, and seven years later, they are preparing to say “I do” in the place they both proudly call home, Jamaica.
Their wedding may still be a few months away, but their journey toward the altar officially began long before boarding passes were booked and invitations were mailed.
Finding the Right Photographer
It started with a simple message on social media.
Back in December, Natania discovered Shots by Xyan through TikTok and Instagram. At the time, she wasn’t looking for wedding photography. She simply wanted beautiful Save-the-Date portraits that reflected who they are as a couple.
As we began planning, Xyan shared a few location recommendations, and together they chose the breathtaking Church of Bethesda, a location that perfectly complemented the timeless, elegant vision they had in mind.
From the moment the session began, everything felt natural.
Working with Natania and O’Ryan was relaxed, effortless, and genuinely enjoyable. Xyan guided them through each pose while creating an environment where they could simply enjoy each other’s company. Instead of feeling like they were in front of a camera, it felt like two best friends spending time together.
The result was a gallery filled with authentic moments, genuine smiles, and the kind of connection every photographer hopes to capture.
When they received their images, they fell in love with them.
Soon after, they asked us one of the greatest compliments a photographer can receive.
They invited us to capture their wedding day.
A Proposal Close to the Heart
Long before wedding planning began, Natania had always imagined how she wanted to be proposed to.
Not in front of a crowd.
Not during a public event.
Just something intimate.
O’Ryan remembered every detail.
With the help of family and friends, he transformed their home into the perfect setting before asking one of the biggest questions of his life.
It was personal.
It was meaningful.
And it was exactly the proposal she had dreamed of.
Why They Chose Jamaica
Destination weddings often begin with a beautiful location.
This one begins with family.
Both Natania and O’Ryan are from Jamaica, and when it came time to choose where to get married, the decision was easy.
They wanted to celebrate surrounded by the people who have loved and supported them throughout their lives.
Most importantly, Natania knew there was one person who absolutely had to be there.
Her mother.
Because traveling to the United States would not have been possible, bringing their wedding home meant everyone who mattered most could be part of one of the biggest days of their lives.
Some weddings are planned around scenery.
This one is planned around family.
The Adventure Ahead
One of our favorite details from their wedding is their beautifully designed “Passport to Wedding” invitation.
With travel-inspired details, a compass, boarding pass design, and a destination of Montego Bay, it perfectly represents the adventure they’re about to begin together.
It’s more than an invitation.
It’s the first page of a brand new chapter.
Looking Ahead to November
As photographers, there are weddings you look forward to because they’re beautiful.
Then there are weddings you genuinely become invested in because of the people.
This is one of those weddings.
One thing we’ve learned about Natania throughout this process is that she’s a planner. She’s always sharing new ideas and inspiration for the wedding day. Her excitement has made planning alongside them an absolute joy, and we cannot wait to see every detail come together.
This November, our entire team will travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica, to document every laugh, every tear, every embrace, and every unforgettable moment as these two best friends become husband and wife.
If their Save-the-Date session is any indication, November 29, 2026 is going to be something truly special.
And we can’t wait to tell the rest of their story.
